Oh Mini Me

Schwetz has a new paper on the LSND puzzle. His 2007 paper discussed the fact that LSND and MiniBooNE results could be reconciled assuming an exotic energy dependence for, in particular, the mass of a sterile neutrino.

Carl might have something to say about neutrino masses. I hope his talk at Northwest APS went well.

Actually, I believe he was talking about QCD at the meeting.

Indeed I did talk and will release the "ppt" files when I get around to it.

From, uh, "visual feedback" from the audience, I've decided to release a version that is easier to believe, LOL. It will concentrate on the pion.

Ah, the crossed arms, knowing nods, uplifted chins and inaudible snorts. Well, looking forward to the slides, Carl!

The feedback from a certain researcher was so clear that I could distinguish exactly which statements were outrageous. This is almost as useful as a critique and probably more honest.

So I'm going to concentrate on the mesons. It will be highly entertaining. There are coincidences that are stunning, but only appear in the square root of the masses.

I'm figuring that it will require several blog posts to fill out some of the details. If you or Louise would like a guest post I'll think about what fits in well with what you're doing. For you, I think the appropriate subject is the Fourier transform.

Thanks, Carl. I would love to guest post sometime (on anything you like) but I will be very busy at Neutrino08 next week!
