Recall that the tribimaximal mixing matrix may be expressed in the form F3F2, that is, as a product of quantum Fourier operators. This expression is asymmetric in the choice of two directions out of three. What if we combine different F2 operators? For example, the old bimaximal mixing matrix is obtained from the product of two F2 matrices: The product of F3 with the bimaximal matrix is not tribimaximal, but its form is similar, with the value of 2/3 being replaced by a value 0.85477.
