HEP South

The next in a series of conferences that I intend to participate in is HEP in the LHC era. This is in Chile in January. It is a wonderful part of the world, which I highly recommend visiting.

For those of you who are wondering ... I am still very poor, but I have a secret source of aid for air travel.

Of course, nobody even told me about THIS conference .... yet another conference with no women (that's about six in a row) .... note that the computer scientists don't bother to hide anymore that they consider themselves high energy theorists.

The show must go on; unfortunately I must be onstage Friday-Sunday. Texas is a big place, and UT Tyler is 392 km from Houston, about as far as Corpus Christi. They do need more women; this shows how exclusionary some fields have become.

Chile sounds interesting though.

Oh, Chile is a wonderful country. I was there in '99, for a high altitude mountaineering trip.
