From Christchurch
Now 4.50am in Christchurch and I'm wide awake. It turns out that Oxford University have yet again had difficulties making foreign salary payments, and they neglected to pay me last month. Fortunately, I pre-booked all buses and am heading to Mt John this morning. Heavy snow is expected.

Welcome back to the South Pacific. All things considered, the UK can not match NZ for outright beauty. Also, it will be Summer soon.
Glad you made it back and had sufficient means to avoid having to hitchhike.
My mom says I should bring some "leatherwood honey" back from Oz.
Yeah, it wasn't the best weather for hitchhiking. Anyway, I made it here and am now happily settled in my room. Waitressing will be postponed for at least a month.
